From the ancient ages until our days human’s behavior and lifestyle were considerably changing and civilization had constantly been improving the way people exist. As time passed, people started interacting with each other. Their lives turned from the primitive coexistence into the active interactions between each other. They started to share their experience and think more about their community taking part in its traditions’ developing. Each family shared the unique experience and had specific features that made it distinct from other communities. These peculiarities were passed from one generation to another and created a bunch of knowledge and customs that are called the culture. Traditions, life rituals, the way of working, and attitude to the surrounding world had accomplished a huge system that was carried from parents to their kids. As the families were growing and communities developed into nations, people had the chance of other cultures’ discovering, not only accentuating on their own system. It has become extremely popular in the modern world to compare different life concepts and to broaden the view by taking some aspects from other established life concepts. What is the personal culture? When it comes to global determination, it could be generalized as a collective gaining that had been gathering its aspects and parts from the oldest years. However, each person is not only a part of a community but an individual with his/her distinct and unique culture. It is hard to distinguish what exactly refers to this concept, but there is no doubt that the list of these peculiarities forms a personality and strictly defines her behavior in the world. It includes her aims, values, and beliefs that are shown in her interactions with people around her. In fact, it describes who the person actually is. Due to lots of influential factors, this concept is not strictly accomplished at a distinct age. It always continues changing and transforming, and the person itself can regulate this process. Types of personal cultures that are mentioned in the list of existing could serve as proof that some individuals can be similar to others. They could share the same life values and have the same lifestyle. It could be explained by a tight relationship between different personalities and family history. The last is an extremely significant factor as each individual constantly blends his unique features and values with those that are a part of his community. It is impossible to be completely separated and, on the other hand, we are not mechanical members of our family. It is a blended phenomenon that involves the impacts of factors from both the inner and outer world and eventually creates a portrait of the concrete personality. I can strongly say that my attitude to the world was formed in such a way.   What does influence the forming of personal culture? The world is full of different people, and it is a rather complicated question to answer what exactly made them so different. Even those who were upbringing in the same house would never be completely the same. There are many factors that influence personal culture forming. Family Family history is one of the most significant factors in forming an individual culture concept. Children are growing up and upbringing in the atmosphere of rules and traditions that were established lots of years ago by their grandparents. Some of that rules are changed by parents, but the base is still the same. In our family, we have the list of customs that are unshakable from the oldest time. My mother and my father are both from Christian families as many other in our country. Their upbringing in accordance with Christian rules significantly impacted the concept of world perception of my sister and me. These tights are so strong that we want to pass them even to our children. Analyzing the process of my establishing as a person, I can claim that our family is the main source where our values are born. When I meet people that belong to other cultures, I understand that location is a meaningful factor that impacts even the way children are upbringing. Humans used to think that their traditions, customs, and rules are the best and the most important. They are struggling to pass this idea to future generations. Fortunately, the modern world is diminishing this stereotype forcing people to change their reasoning. In our family, we were upbringing open-minded, and I used to respect those who are different from me sincerely. Friends Forming personal culture is the process that considerably depends on our interaction with other individuals. I believe it does not refer to our family only but to friends too. My friends play a meaningful role in my life, and their advice often influenced the developing of my values. I reckon that an example of perfect friendship could give those who have similar beliefs, and world perception. They can create that kind of friendship that would pass to the future generations. Self-improvement Our family used to belong to those kinds of people who don’t want to stop their developing until the end of life. My father and my mother were my first who motivated me to study. I spent much time completing my education at school and educate myself in various field of life. Knowledge is a powerful factor that can transform a person’s conscious and it is worth my energy and hard work to achieve perfection. Social media In our family, we were upbringing with the idea that books are more important than social media. I accept the fact that media impacts the forming of life principles in children’s mind as it is a huge instrument to control mass reasoning. We always hear the stories from other culture and such news impact our conscious. In our family, we were learned to filter what we hear and accept from the outer world. My grandfather used to say: â€Å"To know the news does not allow you to let them rule your behavior.† Conclusion My personal culture is the concept of my values, world perception, beliefs, and the way I interact with other individuals. It involves the list of characteristics that make me unique and different from the surrounding. At the same time, it makes me considerably similar to those people who always surround me. They influence me by sharing their thoughts, ideas, life and work experience, and acting in accordance with their values. In this way, I am not a separated figure from the whole world but a part of the community with its own specific culture. My world perception is a mix of the process of growing up and upbringing by my parents and lots of outer factors that influence me throughout the life.

The Effects of Video Games Essay Essays - Entertainment, Software

The Effects of Video Games Essay Video games have come under fire recently. Many people claim the graphic violence and adult themes in the games have affected younger generations and caused many violent acts. Others claim that video games have contributed to obesity and a lack of communication skills. Both of these claims are most often an older generation's misunderstanding of today's youth and the overreaction of the media. Rarely does the mainstream media portray video games for what they really are, a new way for kids to interact and share meaningful experiences all without being in any danger. Video games have endless possibilities and should be thought of as tools to teach the youth rather than the cancer that ravages them. Although many people see video games as a problem, they are actually a positive force because they have infinite possibilities for good. Video games and its effects on adolescents and responsibility of parents is a topic that is widely debated whether it's the parent's responsibility or the game industry should be regulated. The video games industry itself has been available to consume for only about the last 30 years. With that being said the topic is still rather new in terms of its effects but its effects on children can currently be measured. The industry is very unique in terms of entertainment because players are transported into the game its self essentially becoming part of the script. Though many people see the negatives in playing video games there are positives. A recently published meta-analysis by Attal in 2013 concluded that the spatial skills improvements that resulted from playing video games that incorporated elements of shooting have the equivalence of the effects of high school and university-level courses targeted at improving these same skills. With that benefit could some high school level courses be altered? How will this change the classroom atmosphere? Even with games such as Sims 3 the players must build a "virtual" life for themselves from the ground up. Essentially the avatar or virtual character has to socialize, learn new skills to obtain a job and acquire a better home along with finding a husband, wife, and friends and have possible kids. Even though this is a virtual world it still builds on social skills as well as becoming a common interest to kids outside the game (helps build actual friendships). According to a study done by Adachi and Willoughby in 2013 it showed that the more kids that played games such as the Sims i.e. (role- playing games) the more improvements the children had in problem s... Video games have become one of the most popular pastimes for kids these days. With the advent of powerful graphics processors and more innovative chip designs, games are becoming incredibly realistic. This realism is what brings many gamers to the industry. Realism, in a sense, is why the gaming industry has taken off and increases profits every year. Video games are not just a fun hobby or pastime, they are way for gamers to escape the world and imagine themselves in an entirely new landscape. Video games are dreams with controllers. While driving through a racetrack in a video game, one doesn't feel as if they are sitting in front of a TV playing a game, they feel as if they are the car. This is a hard phenomenon to explain but video games are such a global activity inside the brain that the user actually feels as if he is in the game living the experience.

These factors include hazardous gases and pollutants. We are entering a period of global warming as a result of burning vast amounts of fossil fuels. By burning fossil fuels, â€Å"we are putting into the air more gases that act like a globe of glass around the planet† (National Geographic, 1990). The earth’s climate is predicted to change because human activities are altering the chemical composition of the atmosphere through the buildup of greenhouse gases – primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. The heat-trapping property of these gases is undisputed. Although uncertainty exists about exactly how earth’s climate responds to these gases, global temperatures are rising. Scientists on Hawaii’s Mauna Loa have recorded steady increase in human activities such as burning fossil fuels. Discuss what is meant by job design and discuss what might contribute Essay

Discuss what is meant by job design and discuss what might contribute to its success in an organisation - Essay Example or rearrangement, the aim of which is to reduce or to resolve job dissatisfaction and to overcome employee alienation arising from repetitive and mechanistic tasks† (BusinessDictionary.com, n.d., n.p.). In other words, it is a process of improving working conditions or job environment for the sake of employee’s motivation and productivity. Job design helps an organization to determine the tasks that should be done, how these tasks should be done, by whom and in what order and afterwards to organize the content of tasks with the maximum benefits to the organization and employees (Allsubjects4you.com, n.d). Based on the definition of job design it is possible to conclude that there can be many different designs due to the variety of jobs. However, despite the variety of job designs, there can be identified seven key performance objectives of job design (Slack, Chambers, & Johnston 2004). These objectives include the following: quality, speed, dependability, flexibility, cost, health and safety, quality of working life (Slack, Chambers, & Johnston 2004). Quality is one of the critical objectives in any work performed. Job design can affect the employee’s ability to create or produce high-quality products and to offer high-quality services to the clients (Slack, Chambers, & Johnston 2004). Speed of work or response is also an important objective of job design as some jobs require prompt and quick reaction to certain situations. A great illustration of this factor in job design can be the jobs of emergency service personnel, where the sequence of activities in procedures, the range of tasks they are trained, etc all play critical role in terms of timing (Slack, Chambers, & Johnston 2004). Dependability is the objective of job design as it can be influenced by dependable supply of services and goods (Slack, Chambers, & Johnston 2004). Job design can also impact on the ability of employees to adjust to changes in the working arrangements, including the following

Should Philosophers care about the history of philosophy Essay

Should Philosophers care about the history of philosophy - Essay Example Philosophers should have a considerable link to the history of philosophy as cited by many theorists and thinkers. Many philosophical concepts used today have their origin in philosophical history and they are just an evolved form of the ideas generated in the past. As a matter of fact, to give a an extensive interpretation of predecessors is quite common in the philosophical world where Hegel, Heidegger and Nietzsche are often quoted as to give a contemporary philosophical thought by reviewing the history (Sorell & Rogers, pp. 1). However, philosophers in the English-Speaking part of the world do not care about its history since; their type of philosophy is more of an analytical nature, which is required to be concise and relevant to the era in which people are living. The history of philosophy plays a significant role in giving an introduction and a deep knowledge of the subject to the aspiring students of today’s world. It is important for initial philosophers to have a tho rough understanding of the basis of the subject upon which they would base their further assumptions and concepts for the field to grow. Moreover, it is only through the knowledge of the history of philosophy that the philosophers would come to realize, which concepts and ideas were flawed and rejected like that of Descartes (Sorell & Rogers, pp. 2) so that they may look out for their new dimensions and correct them to widen the scope. History of any kind pertaining to any subject is an important aspect to retain if growth is one of the objectives. Considering philosophy, we know well that there have been quite well known philosophers in the history of humankind who have made tremendous efforts in analyzing different philosophical problems and searching for their solutions in a logical manner. It would be merely a waste of time, money and resources if contemporary philosophers involve themselves in the same process in case they do not give any heed to the subject’s history. N evertheless, philosophy is one of the subjects whose concepts and ideas always have a hook. They are grown with related links and this way, subsequently, the field advances (Sorell & Rogers, pp. 4-5). Every other point always has a relevance to something of the pas that helps in giving an advanced cognition for the contemporary philosophers and a chance to learn from their predecessors who might be dead but whose extensive researches are always present for them to learn and make progress. It is often said that the philosophers who fail to understand the past accounts and happenings in the related field, subsequently, fail to hold a firm grasp over following assumptions and thus end up with bas results (Sorell & Rogers, pp. 38). A philosopher can, certainly, not do philosophy without a perspective or without a standpoint. This standpoint or direction is given merely by having a thorough review of the past philosophers and their immense work done in this regards. The subject divided a multiple dimensional approach by the doer and a well-done background analysis to proceed (Makumba, pp-11). In many cases, there has to be an inspiration which drives a philosopher to make further detailed analysis and take the object forward. This inspiration is the result of the philosophers’ research and review of the historical literature and the earlier philosophers. Additionally, in philosophy there are reservation of thoughts and ideas held by the people against or in favour of any theory or assumption put forward. These reservations are further carried by generations and generations in the same manner without actually referring to the actually happening. While, in philosophy, the contemporary philosophers should have a proper understanding of the past ideas and concepts and should hold their own judgement without any biases carried for generations. Only on the basis of first-hand knowledge of the historical accounts of ideas and concepts can the philosopher base a str ong and authentic argument to
